Mackenzie Rose Barnes

Mackenzie Rose Barnes, 22, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at her home. She was born on January 9, 1999 to Bobby and Christy (Huff) Barnes in Dunedin, Florida.

Mackenzie had a huge heart and very loving nature.  She loved being outside and going to various parks with her hammock in tow.  Photography was something she very much enjoyed and took many pictures of flowers and nature.  Sunflowers were her favorite and she also loved bumble bees. Yellow was her favorite color as it represented happiness and light.  Mackenzie also enjoyed painting, crafts and listening to music. She loved The Office tv show and watched the entire series numerous times.

She enjoyed long rides in her car, which she had affectionately named “Beyonce”, while listening to her favorite music.

Mackenzie had a cat named Callie that she adored and enjoyed spending time with.  She was a lover of all animals.  Mackenzie spent a lot of her free time with her best friend, Maddie who meant the world to her and was a great friend.

Mackenzie loved spending time with her dad making trips to Universal Studios, cooking lasagna and baking angel food cake. She also enjoyed shopping and having lunch with her mom.  They were often holding hands and sitting together.  Mackenzie enjoyed playing video games and watching tv with her brother, Chris.  Their pets enjoyed playing together and it was something they looked forward to. When they were young, they were inseparable, and we have so many pictures of them kissing one another.  Mackenzie idolized her big sister, Brittany, and always looked up to her.  One of their favorite things was riding the Mummy ride at Universal Studios together.

Mackenzie had recently started horse therapy at Agape Therapeutic Riding in Cicero.  We’re very thankful she found the joy there that she did.  She suffered from severe depression, but riding was something she looked forward to doing and we’re thankful for that. Mackenzie always had to battle the demons that lived in her mind.  Mental illness is something that needs to be talked about and the mental health system is certainly broken.

She is survived by her parents, Bobby & Christy Barnes; sister, Brittany Barnes (Jamie); and her brother, Chris Barnes.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville.  Services will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Agape Therapeutic Riding Center, PO Box 207, Cicero, IN, 46034 (https://agaperiding.org/give/general-gift/).
