Leah Janine (Malott) Shockley

Obituary

Leah Janine "Nene" Shockley 61, of Fishers, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. She was born on September 2, 1959 in New Albany, Indiana. She attended Indiana University where she got her degree in social work, and also where she met her husband.

To know Nene was to love her. She was so many things to so many different people. The light she exuded will continue on within her children and grandchildren.

She was the stars and the moon to so many people; her husband, children & grandchildren. She was the safe place you could go to anytime for anything. She did not judge, she listened, she prayed & she loved so fiercely you could feel it with every fiber of her being.

She co-founded a financial consulting business with her husband, which they did passionately for years. It was a dream for both of them, and they enjoyed the freedom of being their own boss (well, we all know Nene was the real boss) and traveling together across the country.

She loved cooking and baking (10 sticks of butter anyone?)

She was an avid runner and enjoyed beating her husband in tennis.

She was the best Noni anyone could ask for. She was truly meant to be a grandmother. The love she had for Cece, Beau, Gray + Charlie knew no bounds.

Relaxing on the back deck, with her husband, a glass of wine in hand, and music in the background was her favorite place to be.

There are not enough words to truly describe how much she will be missed or how much she was loved.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Richard Shockley; son, Chris (Emily) Shockley; daughter, Kelly (Dan) Koschka; grandchildren, Cece & Gray Shockley and Beau & Charlie Koschka. Also survived by her dog Macie, who was her loyal companion who stepped up and became her service dog.

She was preceded in death by her father.
