Claudia Ann (Fribley) McCarty

July 16, 1944 ~ January 29, 2020 (age 75)


Claudia Ann (Fribley) McCarty, of Westfield, passed away in her sleep January 29, 2020 at the age of 75. She was the daughter of Wayne and Phyllis (Hillery) Fribley, born July 16, 1944.

Claudia was a 1962 graduate of Warsaw High School, attended Indiana Central and later graduated from Purdue University with an Associates degree in business.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 34 years, Larry R. McCarty; and brother Michael Fribley.

She is survived by her brothers, Paul Mark Fribley and John Fribley (Sandy); brothers-in-law Ken McCarty and James Marlin; sister-in-law Patsy Fribley; her twin children, Vaun McCarty (J.R. Hammack) and Vince McCarty (Allison); grandchildren, Victor McCarty (Chelsea), Caden McCarty, Hudson McCarty, Jason Hammack, and Chris Hammack (Luiza Strickland Faro); and 3 great-grandchildren.

Claudia worked in life insurance for over 45 years. She loved to read, send greeting cards, spend time with her family and shopped for the best bargain she could find. Claudia was always taking care of others...something she did with kindness and compassion throughout her life. She was a member of the Carmel United Methodist Church, where she worked in the church nursery for over 30 years.

In memory of Claudia, donations can be sent to the Westfield Lions Club to go towards the annual LEO Club Pancake Breakfast which benefits a community member in need. Cash/checks may be sent to P.O. Claudia’s viewing and funeral will be held at Randall and Roberts, 1685 Westfield Rd. Noblesville, IN 46062. Her viewing will be Sunday February, 2, 2020 from 1-3pm with her funeral being on Monday February 3, 2020 at 1pm. A procession will follow to Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield, IN where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
