William Howard Lynch

William Howard Lynch, a loving father, devoted husband, and accomplished engineer, passed away on June 30, 2023 in Noblesville, Indiana. Born June 29, 1928, in East Chicago, Indiana to William Lynch and Florence Rebecca (Aley) Lynch, he was raised alongside his sister, Betty Ann (Lynch) Ellis. William was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Betty Ann, his wife of 49 years, Patricia (Meek) Lynch, and his second wife, Marjorie (Zinn) Lynch.

William is survived by his children, William M. Lynch (Sandy), Kathleen Lynch Karaffa (Corwin), and Janet Lynch LaBore (John), and his stepdaughters, Susie (Bill) Crandall and Sally (Lester) Knopp. His presence will be deeply missed by his 11 grandchildren, and 10 Great-Grandchildren.

During the Korean conflict, William served his country with distinction in the US Army, by utilizing his engineering degree (earned at Purdue University) when he was assigned to assist in the development of the transistor at Bell Labs in New Jersey.

William worked as an engineer at Delco in Kokomo, Indiana. During that time he relocated to Noblesville to be closer to Morse Reservoir, where he found solace and joy in sailing the sailboat he built from a kit. This pursuit reflected his adventurous spirit and his ability to bring his dreams to life.  He was a member of First Christian Church, Noblesville.

Following his retirement from Delco, he spent memorable moments at Disney World, where he was fortunate to work at the GM ride in Epcot.

The time, date and location of a Celebration of his Life will be forthcoming once all the details are worked out.  Friends and family will be invited to pay their respects, share cherished memories, and celebrate the life of this extraordinary individual.

As we bid farewell to William, let us cherish the memories we shared with him and find solace in the knowledge that his spirit will forever reside in our hearts.
