Wally Bahler, 85, passed away on January 3, 2026 at his home in Fishers, Indiana. Born April 30, 1940, in Wabash, Indiana to Armin and Irma (Rudig) Bahler. His wife, Nedra (Zellers) Bahler of 35 years, preceded him in death in July 2016.
Wally cherished his family above all else and is survived by his son, Troy (Dee Dee) Bahler of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Tracy (Jim) Minnick of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and step-sons, David (Marie) Stevens of Warsaw, Indiana and Brian (Jeanine) Scott of Fishers, Indiana. Wally leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 12 great‑grandchildren, whom he adored.
Wally is also survived by three brothers, Stan Bahler of Cincinnati, Ohio, Nelson Baher of Stockton, California and Alan Bahler of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marilyn (Marti) Pries and Bethanne Bahler.
Wally worked mainly in route sales and delivery for various companies. His interests included USAC dirt track and locomotives. On most weekends, Wally could be found in the stands at racetracks across the Midwest, or attending one of his great grandchildren’s sporting events.
He retired after 20 years with the Indiana National Guard. Wally was a long-time member of the Elk's Club (Warsaw, IN), American Legion Post 49 (Warsaw, IN), Ft. Wayne (IN) Masons, and Heartland Church (Sharpsville, IN).
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday January 15, 2026 at Heartland Church, 3611 IN-19, Sharpsville, IN 46068. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
