Velna Holcomb Pennington

Velna Holcomb Pennington, 80, of Noblesville, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2026 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. She was born on November 21, 1945 to Wayne Edson and Velna Harriett (Quinette) Holcomb in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Velna was a registered nurse where her care and concern for others served her well. Over her 30+ year career, she worked in hospitals, home health care, doctor's office, and did drug research. Velna enjoyed knitting and genealogy. She loved her family and her Heavenly Father, God.

She is survived by her husband of 59 1/2 years, Douglas Pennington; son, Aaron (Lorri) Pennington; daughter, Christine (Daryl) Lassen, brother, Ken of Michigan, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Wayne and Harriett, of Alloway, NJ, Velna was preceded in death by siblings Kay and Jim from Michigan, Wayne Jr., Jean, Vincent, Jeffrey and Wendy all from New Jersey.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on 10:30 AM Saturday, November 21st at Alexandria First Baptist Church located at 2107 S Park Avenue in Alexandria, IN 46001. Velna's family has entrusted her care to Randall & Roberts Funeral Home.
