Listen to Obituary

Sue A. Reinke went home to be with the Lord on June 17, 2026 which also happened to be the celebration of 52 years of marriage to her husband Robert (Bob) Reinke. This perfect timing symbolizes their partnership and love, the emotional anchor of a life well lived. They met as teenagers and throughout their marriage, never lost that youthful spark. Year after year, they celebrated their anniversary with enthusiasm and excitement and even renewed their vows on Hilton Head Island in 2012. Sue was drawn to Bob for his wild and outgoing side which she balanced with her remarkable grace and charm, sophistication and poise. She was a true lady, always dressed for the occasion, lipstick on, nails done and the grace to effortlessly make everyone around her feel comfortable and loved. Especially her 3 children, Andrew, Melissa and Rachel.

Her greatest gift was being a mother. She wanted more for her children than she had ever had herself and made sure they had every opportunity to explore their interests, from sports and boating to music and beyond. Raising her family on Morse Lake created a childhood filled with fishing, fireflies, boat rides, family dinners, and a constant stream of friends. She was the ultimate host, making everyone feel welcome and valued.

She ran the house by "lake rules," which meant there were very few rules at all. Her laid-back nature, unwavering trust, and confidence in her children gave them the freedom to spread their wings, find their own path, and develop into successful adults. Life at the lake felt like a celebration most of the time-rooted in family, community, laughter, and fun.

Driven by her caring nature, Sue pursued a career in nursing and practiced until 1980. A few years later, when Bob founded the family business, she stepped in to manage the bookkeeping and help build Automotive Products. Working side by side for 35 years, they were true partners in business, marriage, and life.

Sue also had many partners on the golf course. Whether taking lessons, playing in the ladies' 9-hole league, or completing 36 holes on a Saturday, she treasured the camaraderie, laughter, and lasting friendships that came with the sport. In her mid-40s, she took up motorcycling and earned her Harley-Davidson motorcycle certification. She was also a passionate water skier, often recruiting family members for an early morning ski run before the day's activities began.

Sue was a member of P.E.O. and volunteered for the American Heart Association and Girls, Inc.. She was a modern feminist with traditional values. She passed those values onto her two most favorite people, her granddaughters. From summer camps at “Mimi’s” house to swimming and golf lessons at Bridgewater Club, she created memories they will treasure forever.

Sue is survived by her devoted husband, Bob Reinke, her children Andrew, Melissa (Dave) Simon, Rachel (Jason) Burton and her cherished granddaughters Chloe Simon and Kirsten Burton. She is also survived by brother, Dr. Michael (Sue) Noel and many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Alene and Samuel Noel, her brothers Harold and Thurman Noel.

Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692, www.heart.org

A Celebration of Life honoring Sue will be held at The Bridgewater Club on Sunday July 12, 2026 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear golf attire in honor of her lifelong love of the game.
