Sue A. Collier

Sue A. Collier, 72, of Westfield, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at her home.  She was born on March 5, 1948 to William and Jackie (Thurston) Hixon in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Susie was a devoted wife and mom as well as a loyal friend. She found great joy in serving and caring for others as a nurse for many years after obtaining her nursing degree from the University of Evansville.  Susie had a contagious smile and a warm heart. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, her women's Bible studies, going to the beach, listening to music, shopping, decorating, and she loved her dogs.

Susie became a Christian in her young teenage years and walked with the Lord throughout her life. Through her many struggles and trials, her faith remained strong. She had made a list of her favorite Bible verses that gave her comfort during hard times: John 11:25, Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 40:31, Psalm 23, Psalm 139:23, Psalm 73:26, Psalm 61:1-4, Ephesians 2:8, 2 Corinthians 4:8-10, Romans 12:9-13, Matthew 6:9-13, Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, I Corinthians 13:4-8. Her favorite song was Amazing Grace.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Collier; daughter, Stacy (Joe) Fogleman; son, Christopher (Stefanie) Collier; grandchildren, Claire (CJ), Abby, Holly, and Cole; great-grandchildren, Crew and Finley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Hixon.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield. The Collier Family has entrusted Randall & Roberts Funeral Home with Sue's care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a contribution to your local church or ministry.
