Steven Paul Coverdale

Steven Paul Coverdale, “Steve”, age 69 of Noblesville, passed peacefully into the arms of our lord on Friday August 1, 2025. Born in Noblesville on April 13, 1956 (Friday the 13th) Steve lived a life symbolized by love, principle, and devotion to his family, friends and community. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Denise, his sons Luke and Jake and daughter in-law Thea, his half siblings Donna Holding, Pat Johnson, and Dennis Molina. He is survived by many loved family members and friends.

Even though we lost Steve way too young he lived a full life. He had a long and dedicated career with both Firestone and Noblesville School System. He served as Environmental Coordinator for the corporation and Supervisor at the Highschool. He retired in 2019 due to ill health. The school honored Steve by naming him as Grand Marshall of the homecoming parade, which he always said was one of proudest moments of his life. Steve was known for his dedication to his work and improving the lives of those around him. He loved all the bands at the school, especially the Marching Millers and the Jazz bands. The Teachers had him join them to play in their rock band on Faculty Night Live, a couple times! Never seen him so nervous!

While he enjoyed his work he also loved the community that raised him and his family. Like most fathers he coached both his sons during sports leagues. When his sons moved on he stayed involved. He volunteered at the local Boy’s Club, and was honored as volunteer of the year, he went on to coach the Boys Club travel team for several years. He coached with Mark Coverdale and his son Mark. They beat Bloomington and won a Boys Club State Championship! With help of a great team of course! Steve also coached 7th grade baseball for a few years for Noblesville Schools. Steve coached his sons together for the first in the NEFL. He went on to run NEFL and start the flag and 3rd & 4th grade leagues and the cheerleader program, he coached the Grinders which was fitting since he was the first Grinder quarterback. He has been inducted in the NEFL hall of fame! He was very honored by this. Coaching came easy for Steve, and most people called him coach. He loved every kid he came in contact with, and is very proud of the men and women they have become!

In his post-retirement years he found peace in playing golf, occasionally beating Luke, and playing with old friends. Spending time with his puppies, attending Church and playing his bass. He loved listening to his stereo! The only woman His wife was ever jealous of was Alexa!

Steve’s life was a testament to kindness, strength of character, and unconditional love. If he were here he would tell you not to be sad. He lived a full life and has moved on to a better place. He’s reunited with Mary Anne,( he always thought they were so much alike), Shorty, (cousins, but also friends to the end), and his Mother Marjorie, whom he lost when he was 19, he always wished she had lived to see his sons. I would tell him that she knows!

Visitation and service will be held at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street in Noblesville on September 6th with visitation beginning at 1 pm. Memorial service officiated by Shad Hill, pastor of Deer Creek Community Church, will begin at 3 pm.
