Steven Cottom

John Steven "Steve" Cottom, 68, of Noblesville, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.  He was born on December 12, 1954 to Eddie and Virginia (Jewell) Cottom in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Steve owned File Control Systems and, after retirement, he enjoyed working in sales for IKEA.  He loved to cook and feed people.  Steve's special dishes included recipes from his mom growing up.  He made the best lasagna, ribs, chili and vegetables, and always included Oksana's favorite green bean casserole.  Steve's banana bread was delicious and his fudge was so smooth.  He loved working outside on his home and took so much pride in his yard, being sure that his grass was greener than any of his neighbors'.  Steve enjoyed spending time in his garden and loved decorating for Christmas.  He loved traveling with his wife and going on cruises.  Most of all, Steve greatly loved his family.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Oksana Cottom; son, John Steven Cottom II; daughters, Alexandra Jennifer Cottom and Anastasia Moore; 5 grandchildren, Annalysa, Audrina, Ella Grace, Brayli, and Kaseun; sisters, Julie Kesterson and Mary Krammes; and his nieces & nephews, Amanda, Emily, Kara, Joey, Chelsea, Evan, Sophie & Gracie.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his son, Sasha Cottom in 2013.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 29, 2023 at the funeral home, with Rev. Stanley R. Sutton officiating.
