Stephen Willis Carley, 77, of Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at his home, that he built, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 1, 1948 to Willis and Sara (Gibson) Carley in Champaign, Illinois.
Steve was a realtor and custom home builder. He owned his own business, Carley Custom Builders and with his partner, Duane Miller, built over 450 homes in the downtown Indianapolis area. Throughout the years they were winners at Building Partners, Parade of Home, and were Builders of the Year by Near North. The company was recognized almost yearly by various Community Development Centers (CDC). Steve was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church for over 40 years and for the majority of the time served as a church trustee. He was a member of the East Side Sertoma Club and of the MIBOR. Steve loved anything involving water, like fishing and boating, and enjoyed hunting. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Carley; son, Cliff (Angie) Carley; daughter, Carri (Garrett) Hunter; grandchildren, Danielle (Zach) Carley-Parker, Clayton (Amanda) Carley, Carley Hunter, and Brenna Hunter; great-grandchildren, Brody Parker, Hailey Mumaw, Hadlee Parker, and Lyla Carley; and brother, Dave Carley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Judy Carley.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 13550 Olio Road in Fishers, with Pastor Lynn Armstrong officiating.
