Stanley Swinford

Stanley Clay Swinford , 70, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.  He was born to Herbert and Katherine (King) Swinford on October 25, 1950 in Noblesville, Indiana.  Stanley married the love of his life, Lupe Gomez, in 1972, and they were happily married for 49 years.

Stanley attended Noblesville Schools.  He belonged to the Carpenters Local 60 for 32 years.  Stanley retired from Delco Electronics (General Motors) of Kokomo in 2006.  At the time of his death, he worked part-time at Horton Corporation.

Stanley was an avid hunter with his dogs.  He also enjoyed fishing with his wife, Lupe, and claimed, “She was a better fisherman!”  Stanley enjoyed trap shooting, hunting and fishing with his son, Brooke, and grandson, Chance.

He enjoyed going to see Chance in all of his different sporting events while growing up:  football, basketball, and baseball.  Stanley and Chance also enjoyed watching sports on television together.

Stanley will always be remembered by his family and friends for his humor and his two favorite words of expression:  “Marvy” and “Dandy”.

He was survived by his wife, Lupe Swinford; son, Brooke (Stacie) Swinford; grandson, Chance Swinford; brother, Steve (Karen) Swinford; and sisters, Sally Swinford and Tracy Swinford.  Also surviving are several nieces & nephews.  Stanley also enjoyed a “bonus” daughter, grandkids and great-grandkids that liked to call him “Grandpa”.

In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his grandson, Zachary Clay Swinford; brother, Sidney Swinford; sisters, Vona Weaver and Patricia Jones; and several nieces & nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Stanley’s care has been entrusted to Randall and Roberts Funeral Home.
