Shirley Denney Hubbard

Shirley Denney Hubbard, 87, of Carmel, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Sunrise on Old Meridian in Carmel.  She was born on August 5, 1935 to William Mitchell Denney and Winnifred MacArthur Denney Wood in Beaver, Oklahoma.

Shirley was a devoted mom, wife, friend, and community volunteer.  She also worked for many years at Lombard Medical Group as an insurance coder.  Shirley spent most of her life in Thousand Oaks, California, and moved to Fishers in 2017, where her daughter, Lisa, lives.  She was devoted to her family and enjoyed her grandchildren's activities through the years.  Shirley was known to chat and connect with everyone at any gathering or event she attended.  The past five years she enjoyed bringing joy to others at her residence at Sunrise and thrived on the care and love she received from her caregivers.

Shirley is survived by her son, Michael Hubbard (Patti Appell); daughters, Shawn (Scott) Cathey and Lisa Wissman; former daughter-in-law, Sandy Becker and former son-in-law, Brial Wissman; 8 grandchildren, Daniel Hubbard, Allie (Mike) Mirza, Tonya (Kyle) Scribner, Matthew (Sarah) Cathey, Jordan (Dani) Cathey, Grant (Kylee) Wissman, Clayton (Christina) Wissman, and Adam Wissman; 8 great-grandchildren, Wren Mirza, Ethan Scribner, Zach Scribner, Levi Cathey, Owen Cathey, Greyson Cathey, Andi Cathey, and Graham Wissman; and her sister-in-law, Billie Denney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hubbard; brother, Mack Denney; sister, Mickey Sue Denney; father- and mother-in-law, Robert and Louise Hubbard; and stepfather, Bedlington "Woody" Wood.

No services are scheduled.  Shirley's family has entrusted her care to Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary.
