Sharon Kay Griffith, 78, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 22, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Sharon was born June 2, 1948, in Noblesville, Indiana, to Orval and Martha Barnes. She was a 1967 graduate of Broad Ripple High School, where she met the love of her life, Denny Griffith. The two were high school sweethearts and married soon after graduation, sharing 58 years of marriage.
Sharon worked as a Claims Clerk at Liberty Mutual in Glendale for 17 years before devoting herself to raising her son, Nick, and serving her community. She served as President of the Parent-Teacher Organization at Hazel Dell Elementary and was deeply involved in serving Hinkle Creek Friends Church in Noblesville, where she gave generously of her time and heart. Sharon loved nothing more than opening her home, hosting gatherings for family and friends with warmth and joy.
Sharon had a rare gift: everyone who met her walked away feeling special. She was kind, witty, quick to laugh, and stronger than she ever let on. She will be remembered as a woman who loved deeply and was loved by all who knew her.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Denny Griffith; her son, Nick Griffith (wife Kathryn); and her cherished grandchildren, Helen and Oliver, whom she adored. She is also survived by her brothers, Patrick and Steven Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Martha Barnes, and her sisters, Jerilyn and Shirley.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with services at 3:00 pm, on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Hinkle Creek Friends Church, 21617 Hinkle Road, in Noblesville. Pastor Robert Stubbs will officiate. Burial will be at Hinkle Creek Cemetery in Noblesville.
Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made in Sharon's memory to Scouting America. Checks may be made out to “Troop 56, Scholarship Fund” and mailed to St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Scout Troop 56, 100 West 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
