Sally Koepp Smith

Sally Koepp Smith passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026 at the age of 96 in Fishers, Indiana.

The only child of Emil T. and Alvina A. Koepp, she was born and lived most of her life in Toledo, Ohio. After graduating from DeVilbiss High School in 1947 she attended Northwestern University for 2 years. In 1951 she graduated from The Ohio State University and married A. Jackson Smith. During her college years she became a member of Delta Gamma Fraternity and was happily active in the Toledo Alumnae Chapter until moving to Indiana in 2012 to be close to family.

Sally enjoyed a mid-life career as a legal assistant at Robison, Curphey & O’Connell after 20 years as a stay-at-home mom that followed 5 years as a secretary at Owens Illinois. Upon retiring she volunteered at Flower Memorial Hospital and Toledo Sight Center. Sally lived to celebrate her 75th wedding anniversary with Jackson and family members at her side.

She is survived by her husband Jackson, and her daughters Dr. Arden (Dr. David) Pletzer, Robin K. Smith, Dana (Lee) Rector, and Jenny (Curtis) Beauchamp. She is also survived by grandchildren Dr. Scott Pletzer, Allison (Chad) Willems, Kain Pletzer, Mitchell Rector and Alicia Rector, and three great-granddaughters Starla, Daisy and Winnie.

Sally requested that, in lieu of flowers, family and friends take a few moments to recall pleasant memories of good times they shared with her.
