Ruth Roush Heiny

Ruth S. Roush Heiny, of Noblesville, Indiana, age 93, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. Born September 30, 1915 in Prairie Township, Henry County, Indiana, she was the third of twelve children born to James Blaine and Mary Chambers Shively.
Mrs. Heiny was a graduate of Mt. Summit High School and Indiana Business College. She was employed as a secretary at Guide Division of General Motors Corporation in Anderson for 31 years and retired in 1974. She was a Red Cross volunteer during World War II and a Gray Lady at Riverview Hospital after retirement. Mrs. Heiny was also a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader and a school volunteer. She was a member of Order of Amaranth, Extension Homemakers, Senior Citizens and First Christian Church.
Survivors include sons, Jerry (wife Nyla) Roush of Noblesville, and Jesse B. Heiny of Brownsburg; daughter, Janet H. (husband Russell) Dash of Pueblo, CO; step-daughter Judy H. (husband Joe) Wilkins of Fishers; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. Also surviving are a sister, Mary Lou (husband Cloyd) Dye of Mt. Summit; and brothers, Ralph H. Shively of Mt Summit, M. Chester (wife Marilyn) Shively of Heltonville, and S. Richard (wife Mary Alice) Shively of Nashville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clifford E. Heiny; sisters, Frances S. Courtney, Barbara S. Hedrick and Marie S. Wills; and brothers, James E. Shively, John R. Shively, Allen E. Shively, and Harry L. Shively.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 11, at 12:00NOON at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30AM at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville.
