Ruth Coverdale, 89, of Frankton, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026 at her home. She was born on December 29, 1936 to Dwight and Beulah (Brown) Moss in Noblesville, Indiana.
Ruth was a 1954 graduate of Noblesville High School and graduated from Taylor University with a BS in Elementary Education in 1960. She enjoyed working a variety of part-time jobs as a preschool teacher, respite care for Senior Services, assistant activity director at Sanders Glen retirement community, receptionist, and church secretary. Ruth was a member of Noblesville Friends Church where she taught Sunday School, served on committees, was recording clerk, participated in women's groups, and sang in the choir. She also frequently attended a church in Elwood that was closer to her home. She enjoyed music, played the piano, and sang in two choirs: Hamilton County Silver Notes and Joy Belles. Ruth belonged to Dawnbreakers Home EC Club, served on Noblesville Inter-Church Council, participated in Elwood's "Write Idea" writing group, volunteered at WHMB Christian TV, and helped serve meals to the homeless in Elwood. She enjoyed cats and dogs, eating out, growing flowers, Speedway cappuccino, and chocolate chip cookies. Most of all Ruth loved spending time with her family. Ruth self-published a book for her children and grandchildren called "Family Stories".
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Coverdale; daughter, Rebecca (Brian) Harger; son, Ron (Dawn) Coverdale; grandchildren, Garrett Coverdale and Clinton (Kyla) Coverdale; two great-grandchildren, Ansen and Andelynn Coverdale; and brother, Eric (Judy) Moss.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Roslyn Moss Westlake.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday May 9, 2026 at First Friends Church, 1055 Division Street in Noblesille. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church.
