Roy E. “Tuck” Lockhart, 82, of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of hard work, cherished memories, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

Born on December 31, 1943, Roy was known for his strong work ethic and mechanical talents. He was born to Coy and Myrtle Lockhart in Lee County, Virginia. He married his love, Nancy (Firestone) Lockhart, in 1963. They had a wonderful marriage until her passing in 2016.

Roy began his career at Firestone in 1964, where he dedicated 16 years of service. After leaving Firestone, he followed his passion for mechanics by operating his own engine repair business for the next 10 years, helping countless people with his knowledge and skill. He later joined the Hamilton County Street Department, where he served his community until his retirement in 2009.

While Roy took great pride in his work, his greatest joy came from the people he loved. Roy enjoyed traveling and cherished the time he spent with family and friends. Some of his happiest moments were spent gathered around the family pool, where laughter, stories, and togetherness made countless summer days unforgettable. He was known for his love of puzzles and humorous hillbilly novelty keepsakes. He enjoyed visiting social clubs such as the Moose and Eagles. He was happiest when surrounded by those he loved.

Roy is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Lynn (David) Martin; his son, Dean (Beth) Lockhart; his sisters, Mary Coleman, Carolyn (Lee) Lockhart, and Margaret (John) Owens; brothers, Ken (Wanda) Lockhart and Danny (Tammy) Lockhart; 7 grandchildren, Brian Rider, David Martin, Courtney (Mike) Scott, Whitney Martin, Matthew (Jennifer) Lockhart, Curtis (Allyson) Lockhart, and Stephanie Lockhart; 11 great-grandchildren, Corrine Capadagil, Lilliana Wright, Peyton Scott, Alayna Lockhart, Aidan Wright, Quinn Scott, Reagan Martin, Damian Lockhart, Mackenzie Lockhart, Carson Lockhart, and Reese Martin; and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Lockhart; his daughter, Jackie (Donald) Brewster; his son, Anthony Lockhart; sister, Pat Clark; and grandson, Brandon Rider.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Summit Lawn Cemetery, 700 South Union Street, Westfield, IN 46074.
