Ron Griffin, from Fishers, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 23, 2008.  He was born on July 21, 1935, in Noblesville, the second son of Andrew and Marguerite Griffin. He was preceded in death by both parents and brother, Dan. 
Most of his life was lived in Hamilton County.  After graduating in 1953 from Westfield High School he served in the Army Signal Corps for three years. He met his wife, Edith Garrison, while they both attended Indiana Central College. They were married on December 20, 1958 and graduated in 1960. 
After living in Seattle for a year, they returned to Indiana where he taught junior high and high school social studies at Westfield, developmental reading at Warren Central High School, and fifth grade at College Wood Elementary in Carmel. He also drove for the Greyhound during summer vacations. After retiring from teaching, Ron had a home video business and delivered Meals on Wheels. Ron also authored One Hill at a Time, a true-life adventure he took with his sons across the country. He was a devoted husband, father of three, and grandfather of eighteen. He leaves behind his wife of almost 50 years; his daughter, Cindy (Byron) Mossburg along with their nine children from Uniondale; his son, Andy (Melodee) along with their four children from Rockford, IL; and his son Pete (Juree) along with their five children from Fishers.
Visitation will be held at the Randall and Roberts Funeral Home in Fishers on Friday, September 26, from 5-8:00 PM. On Saturday, September 27, there will be a visitation at the Faith Missionary Church at 91st and College in Indianapolis from 9-10:00 AM with the service to follow at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Faith Church, where he was a member. Burial, with military honors, will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
