Rodney James Farney
Rodney was diagnosed with multiple myeloma six years ago but that never stopped his joy of life, family, friends, and his hobbies.
He was a master woodworking and blessed many with his carpentry skills. His favorite hobbies included his love of trains. He created many detailed layouts for his HO scale model trains.
Music was always at the center of his life. Rodney played his guitars, piano/keyboard, trumpet and could name almost every song he heard from all musical genres.
He touched many people on his journey and will be dearly missed.
Rodney attended Lifepointe church of Westfield and was blessed when his health failed to be able to livestream the services.
He worked as a Senior Machinist for Dormakaba (Best Lock and Best Access) in Indianapolis for 39 years.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Carol Farney; daughter, Amanda Gross (fiancé Noah White); sister-in-law, Eunice (James) McBryant; brothers -in law, Steve (Kim) Fulton and David (Leah) Fulton; as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, Aunts and Uncles. He also is survived by many cousins; He was loved by all.
In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his in-laws, James and Grace Fulton and his grandparents.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with services at 12:00 pm, on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville. Burial will be at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield.
Rodney was an animal lover. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Janssen Veterinary Clinic, 2420 West 236th Street, Sheridan, IN 46069 (https://www.janssenvetclinic.com).
