Rodger Warren Katter Jr.

Rodger Warren Katter Jr., 58, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 17, 2025.

He was born on October 8, 1966 in Lebanon, Indiana, son of Rodger Warren Sr. and Fern (Adkins) Katter.

After graduating from Brownsburg High School in 1985, he attended GMI (General Motors Institute) where he participated in a five year work study program. He worked at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis and attended school in Flint, Michigan in alternating semesters. He graduated in 1990 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He was hired immediately after graduation in June 1990 as a Field Sales Engineer at Bastian Solutions in Indianapolis, Indiana. Rodger spent his entire professional career at Bastian working as a Field Sales Engineer and then he moved into the role of Senior Advisor in the latter years. Rodger retired from the company in January 2025 after 34 1/2 years.

He was awarded various awards of Top Sales Producer of the Year, Field Sales Engineer of the Year, and multiple Customer Service Awards. He was known for his integrity in business and the excellent service he provided his clients. Upon his retirement, the company created the "Rodger Katter Service Award" in his honor that will be given to an employee annually who embodies those same characteristics.

Rodger was a member of Charity Baptist Church in Clermont, Indiana most of his youth and some of his young adult years. He was an active member of the youth group and taught Sunday School as well as Bible Studies.

He joined Colonial Hills Baptist Church in 1991. Rodger served in many areas over the years including Awana, Security, Usher, and Deacon. Rodger had a strong faith in the Lord and had a burden to share that faith with others.

Rodger met his wife of 33 years, Shannon Kelli (Clouse) Katter, on his first day of work at Bastian Solutions in June of 1990. They married in May of 1992 and the Lord blessed them with three children and two grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Rodger enjoyed all things sports related - whether it was watching, coaching, playing, or sharing sports trivia facts to all who were interested. He won the State Championship on the football team at Brownsburg High School in 1985. He was a high school football referee for many years and coached both of his daughters - one to a state basketball championship at Colonial Christian School in 2013, and the other in AAU travel basketball for many years. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. His family was always an unwavering priority to him.

Rodger was preceded in death by his father Rodger Warren Sr., and his mother Fern Mae (Adkins) Katter.

He is survived by his wife Shannon; his children: Sara (Matt), Emily, and Mason (Alison); grandchildren Isla, and Ari; and sister Becky Albright (Joe).

A viewing will be held at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 8140 Union Chapel Road in Indianapolis, Indiana on Monday, June 23 from 4-7 pm. Family and friends will gather for funeral services on Tuesday, June 24 at the church. There will be an opportunity for viewing from 10-11 am and the service will begin at 11 am.

A private burial will be held at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville, Indiana.
