Listen to Obituary

October 22, 1959 - May 27, 2026

Robin Lee Surrett Davis passed away on May 27th after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She transitioned to the next life while surrounded by her family in her hometown of Fishers, Indiana. She will forever be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, and loving mother, daughter, big sister, and friend. Her sense of style, unwavering faith, willingness to lend a helping hand, and fierce loyalty live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Robin was born on a military base in Okinawa, Japan on October 22, 1959 to John and Janet Surrett. Before she turned three, she moved with her parents and two younger siblings to Westwood, Massachusetts, where she spent the remainder of her childhood. The oldest of six, she was nicknamed Bin by her younger siblings Robert, Karen, Cynthia, Peter, and Jennifer. She was a star on her high school swim team where she spent practices listening to The Beatles with her teammates. She gathered friends like flowers, including her best friend Shawni and others with whom she remained close for life.

Seeking to escape those cold, New England winters, Robin attended college at the University of Tulsa, where she received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1981. She was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Theta, developing lifelong friendships with her sorority sisters Julie, Mary, and Julia. After graduating, she spent several years as a pediatric nurse in Tulsa. She met her dear friend KA while working on the pediatric floor of Hillcrest Hospital.

In her late 20s, she moved back to New England and began working in health insurance. As was her talent, she made another friend in Cindy, who hired her in 1988. In 1994, she met the father of her children, Jim, while out in Boston. They married two years later in a March blizzard in Maine. Wilde was born in another blizzard, joining the family in December 1996. One month later they moved to Indianapolis. Kendal was born there in May 1999. Robin spent 21 years in the Indianapolis area, meeting incredible, dedicated friends like Robyn, Betsy, the Audubon girls, Mama T, and many others. She began working as a care manager for Illumifin in 2014. She moved to Newport Beach in 2018, before returning home to Fishers in 2021.

At her daughter Kendal’s recent wedding, Robin proudly gave her away to her new husband Joey Martoccio. A testament to her lifetime of close friendships, she was surrounded by friends and loved ones from Westwood, Tulsa, Boston, and Indianapolis. The wedding was a beautiful celebration and Robin glowed with beauty and joy.

Robin is survived by her children, Wilde Davis and Kendal Martoccio; son-in-law, Joey Martoccio; mother, Janet Surrett; brothers, Robert and Peter Surrett; sisters, Karen Ishihara, Cynthia McDonnell, and Jennifer Jette; and brothers-in-law, Steven Ishihara, Matthew McDonnell, and James Jette.

A celebration of life will be held at 11am on July 11, 2026 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 100 W 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260. A visitation for friends and family will take place at 10am. Please come dressed in your favorite colors to celebrate Robin and her love of fashion.
