Robert 'Bob' W. Reed, 80, Niceville, Florida passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. He was born January 17, 1928 in Connersville, Indiana to Rudolph and Mary (Jean) Reed.
Bob was retired from American Water Works Corp., where he has been a Division Manager. He grew up in Richmond, IN, graduating from Richmond High School in 1946 and the Indiana Business College in 1949. He served in the United States Navy from 1947-1948.
During his working career, he was a Division Manager for American Water Works Corp in Richmond, IN and Pittsburgh, PA unil his retirement in 1978. After retirement, he was President of R.W. Reed Utility Consulting, Orlando, FL, Vice-President of AUS Utility Consulting in Cherry Hill, NJ, and a staff member of the Illinois Commerce Commission, Springfield, IL.
Bob and his wife Mary (Black) Reed finally retired in Niceville, FL in 1992. Mary preceded him in death in 2000. They had been married for 50 years.
He is survived by sons, Michael W. (& Stephanie A.) Reed of Noblesville, IN, & David L. (& Shelby) Reed of Woodstock, GA; grandchildren, Christina (Reed) Jones of Noblesville, IN, Sybil (Reed) Urban of Fishers, IN, Corey Reed of Fishers, IN, & Lisa (Reed) Wojtowicz of Keller, TX; and six great-grandchildren, ranging in age from 1 to 14 years old.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a son Steven R. Reed, who died in 1994.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, September 19, 2008 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville. Friends may call Friday, September 19, 10:00 - 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery.
