Richard "Dick" VanVoorhis

Dick VanVoorhis, 86, of Cicero, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022 at IU Health North Hospital in Carmel.  He was born on February 14, 1936 to Frank and Grace VanVoorhis in Newark, Ohio.

Dick proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  He worked as a hydraulic engineer and was an entrepreneur.  Dick liked to travel, go boating on the lake, and go on cruises.  He was a fan of Ohio State and Indiana sports.  Dick enjoyed having dinner with friends every Friday.  Most of all, he loved his family and grandkids.

Dick is survived by his sons, Jeff (Patricia) VanVoorhis, and David (Gerhild) VanVoorhis; daughters, Julie (Blaine) Meyer, and Laurie (Sean) Brady; step-children, Jill Landaw, Todd Landaw, Julie (Randy) Gravely; 11 grandchildren; and his brother, Steve (Linda) VanVoorhis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Marie VanVoorhis; and his sister, Nancy Call.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with services and 3:00 pm, on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville.
