Raymond Charles Vartanian , age 64, of Noblesville, passed from his earthly body into the arms of his Lord and Savior at his home on Monday, August 23, 2021. Over the past year, Ray courageously fought the cancer battle. He fought the good fight, he finished the race and he kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7).
Ray was born on June 10, 1957 to Vartan and Nora (Kallas) Vartanian in Union City, New Jersey.
Ray was a Senior Global Logistics Manager for Ruan Transportation. He spent most of his logistics career with GTE/Verizon Communications. Ray was a family man and was passionate about showing hospitality to family and friends. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting. Ray had a zeal for mentoring young people by serving in youth ministry in his local church. Through his mentoring and passion for sports, Ray dedicated many years coaching his daughter and granddaughter in softball, benefiting many young girls across Indiana. He faithfully served and was a member of Harbour Shores Church in Cicero, IN.
Ray is survived by his dear wife of 34 years, Janet Martin Vartanian; mother-in-law, Betty Martin; daughters, Sarah (Beau) Macik and Jillian (Austin) Anderson; son, Raymond (Carly) Vartanian; 8 grandchildren, Addison, Tatum, Emerson, Nora, Chance, Lennox, Pierce and Leon; brothers, Setrag Vartanian and George Vartanian; sister, Mary Gehrkens; several nieces & nephews and extended family; and his beloved bird dog, Jax.
In addition to his parents, Vartan and Nora Vartanian, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Pierce Martin.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Harbour Shores Church, 8011 East 216th Street, in Cicero. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm at the church, with Pastor Stephen Schultze officiating. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
Ray's family is incredibly grateful for the loving family and friends, the generous outpouring of prayer, and support throughout his cancer journey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harbour Shores Church, 8011 East 216th Street, Cicero, IN 46034 ( http://harbourshores.org ) to further God's work in missions and youth ministry.
