Paula Fulton DuBois, a beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, friend, and respected realtor, passed away peacefully at her home in Fishers, Indiana, on September 5, 2025, at the age of 72. She was surrounded by love-just as she lived her life: giving it freely, fully, and without hesitation.
Born on July 8, 1953, in El Dorado, Arkansas, to parents Thomas Vester Fulton and Virginia Frances Zwahlen Fulton. Paula, also known as Paula Kay or PK by family and friends, was raised in Sanford, Florida and Montgomery, Alabama, where her southern roots took shape. She later moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where she met the love of her life, William (“Bill”) Bentley DuBois. They married on March 28, 1984, where they built a beautiful life together and soon welcomed their son, William Bentley DuBois II. A devoted wife and mother, Paula poured her heart into caring for her family. After time spent in Birmingham and Mechanicsville, Virginia, the family eventually settled in Fishers, Indiana, where they planted lasting roots and created a life filled with love, laughter, and community.
To know Paula was to love her. She had an extraordinary gift for connecting with people-instantly, sincerely, and forever. She built an incredibly wide and devoted circle of friends who will remember her as the brightest light in every room, a loyal companion, and someone who made all feel at home.
Professionally, Paula thrived as a successful and respected realtor with Lennar Homes, where she guided countless families in finding not just houses, but true homes. Known for her honesty, warmth, and genuine care, she truly loved her work and took pride in helping others.
Outside of work, Paula found joy in entertaining, playing dominos with friends, gathering at Main Event, and creating moments of fun and togetherness. Admired for her impeccable style, generous heart, and love of friendship and family, she had a remarkable knack for hosting and entertaining where laughter flowed as freely as her warmth. Paula loved to laugh herself and had a way of ensuring everyone around her felt comfortable, celebrated, and deeply valued. She will be remembered for her selflessness, magnetic spirit, and contagious laughter-and most of all, for her limitless love.
Paula is survived by her son, William Bentley DuBois II of Fishers, Indiana; her stepdaughter, Jennifer DuBois of Atlanta, Georgia; her sister, Cathi Flanary of Daphne, Alabama; and her nieces, Cindi Flanary Gutierrez and Carrie Flanary. Paula is also remembered with love by many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Bill” DuBois; her parents, Thomas and Virginia Fulton; and niece, Angie Flanary.
Paula DuBois will be deeply missed and forever remembered-not only for all she gave, but for who she was: a beautiful soul, a loyal friend, and the heart of the family.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Paula’s life will be held at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN 46038 on Friday September 12, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
