Paul Victor Lake

Paul Victor Lake, 88, of Noblesville, Indiana passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 23rd, 2023. Born September 12th, 1935 in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin, he was the son of Russell and Freda Lake of Leesburg, Florida.

Paul graduated from Prairie Du Chien High School. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin Platteville and Master's Degree in Botany from Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army.

He worked at Eli Lilly and Company in Greenfield, Indiana for 29 years as a Bacteriologist in Plant Biologics, Animal Biologics and finally as a Systems Analyst retiring in 1993.

After retirement, Paul was involved in creating and was the treasurer of Rawhide Western Dance Club for many years. He traveled annually to Panama City, Florida and Tucson, Arizona. Most recently he lived half the year in The Villages, Florida. Paul was grateful to have the opportunity to travel nationally and internationally. He loved spending time in the warm weather in the Villages, making new friends and socializing with old friends. He enjoyed his church family, western dancing, studying history, watching sports and auto racing, playing golf, admiring impressionism art and watching old movies especially westerns. Paul was very proud to be a United States Veteran and wore his US Army hat proudly. He was a member of the American Legion and a member of the White Chapel Church.

Paul will always be remembered for his love and devotion for his family and friends.

Survivors include his fiancé, Nancy Ritchey of Noblesville, Indiana; daughters, Carrie (Lake) Southern of Charlotte, Michigan and Susan (Lake) Bretz of Fishers, Indiana; and son, David Paul Lake of Carmel, Indiana. He had eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Freda Lake; his wife of 53 years, Janet Louise (Roth) Lake; and his brother, Gordon Lake.

Celebration of Life will be held at the White Chapel Church, 5155 E. 116th Street, Carmel, Indiana 46032 on December 14th, 2023 with visitation from 10am-12pm and service immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Legion, VFW and the White Chapel Church.
