Patricia Lynn Creakbaum, 81, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Story Cottage at Carey Grove in Carmel. She was born on October 15, 1944 to Charles and Irene Mary Ann (Bernath) Hatherly in Toledo, Ohio.
Pat graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science in education and also received her master’s degree at University of Indianapolis. She was an IPS elementary school teacher and preschool teacher and was also a full-time mom at home raising three boys. Pat participated in the PTO at Westlake Elementary and was a long-time member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church on the west side of Indy, serving as their preschool teacher for many years. Once she moved up to Hamilton County to be closer to her 3 sons and grandchildren, she regularly attended Christ the Savior Lutheran Church. Pat attended and supported many clubs with her husband, including the John Purdue Club. She loved animals and always had a dog by her side. Pat also shared in her husband’s & oldest son’s (Eddie) love for aviation and even completed her own solo flight. She liked researching genealogy and spent hours traveling the Midwest with her sister, Nancy. Pat enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a sweet, peaceful, and strong yet gentle woman. Pat loved her grandchildren dearly, and spent many evenings reading, playing, and putting puzzles together with them.
Pat is survived by her sons, Eddie (Casey) Creakbaum and their sons, Eli and Alex, Matthew Creakbaum, and Ryan (Elizabeth) Creakbaum; and her sister, Nancy Hatherly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Larry Dean Creakbaum.
Visitation will be from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, with funeral services at 2:30 pm, on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers. Rev. Brian D. Derrer will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Fishers.
