Olen Fleenor, 91, of Noblesville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026. He was born on June 5, 1934, to George and Edith (Sutton) Fleenor in Lee County, Virginia.
From the very beginning, Olen’s heart was set on taking care of the people he loved. He lived his entire life putting others first. If you ever asked him how he was doing, you’d hear the same answer every time: “If they’re alright, I’m alright.” And he meant it. He grew up loving the outdoors-hunting, fishing, camping, and tending a garden big enough to help feed the family. He could cook just about anything, and his grandchildren had their favorite dishes that only Pap could make the right way.
In 1957, he married the love of his life, Alma, and together they shared nearly 60 years of unwavering loyalty and love. Olen served his country as a tank mechanic in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and when he returned home, he built a lifelong career as a job setter with Allison Transmission.
He was happiest tinkering in his garage, always fixing something-an appliance, a loose hinge, or a baby who just needed to be held. His grandkids and great grandkids were especially comforted by his gentle presence. He loved reading, watching Westerns, playing euchre, ginseng hunting, sitting on his porch, and taking his grandchildren on trips back to Virginia. To the grandkids, he was “Pap,” and to the littlest ones, “Big Pap.”
Holidays meant everything to Olen. Nothing brought him more joy than having everyone together under one roof-laughing, talking, filling the house with the kind of noise that only family can make. More than anything, he loved taking care of his family and being surrounded by his grandchildren.
Olen is survived by his sons: Marty (Kathy) Fleenor, Gary Fleenor, Barry (Melissa) Fleenor, and Randy Fleenor; and by his grandchildren: Kristyn (Jeff) Inman, Krystal (Scott) Madison, Daniel (Mel) Fleenor, Brandi (Travis) Serna, Liz Fleenor, Sheena McCance, Katy (Kevin) Gould, Jamie (Rosa) Fleenor, Kyle Fleenor, Seth Fleenor, and Ashly Fleenor.
He is also survived by his great grandchildren: Lexi (Zane) Remsen, Emma Fleenor, Owen Duvall, Serenity Fleenor, Luke Inman, Macie Duvall, Dreydin Serna, Gaige Benton, Lilli Serna, Leia Serna, Liv Gould, Carly Duvall, Liam Gould, Raymond Fleenor, Dexter Fleenor, Olen Fleenor, Lincoln Gould, and Waylon Gould.
Additional survivors include his brothers, Johnny (Angie) Fleenor and Jimmy Fleenor; and his sister, Shirley Harber.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma B. Fleenor; grandsons, Kevin Fleenor and Scottie Turner; daughter-in-law, Tammy Fleenor; his great granddaughter, Ryanne Lenee Duvall; brother David Fleenor; and his sisters Marie Sharp, Ovella Gibson, and Louise Harber.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville.
