Mildred I. Koschmann

Mildred I. Koschmann, 86, of Fishers, entered her heavenly home Saturday evening, January 12, 2008.  She was born October 19, 1921, daughter of the late Alfred and Irene (Abbott) Reimer.  She graduated at the top of her class from Manual High School.  She then attended Butler University where she was the first female editor of the Butler newspaper.  She later graduated with a degree in journalism, magna cum laude.  Mildred's journalism career began at the Indpls Times Newspaper where her various roles included the society editor.  She was than an administrative assistant at Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society, and later became the office manager of Orchard Park Presbyterian Church. 
In 1944 she married Robert B. Koschmann.  Mildred's church life was always very important to her.  She and her husband along with three other couples under the direction of the Central District President started Messiah Lutheran Church.  They felt this was a needed addition on the west side of Indpls.  In 1985 they moved north and joined Carmel Lutheran Church where she was an active member.  At CLC she was a money counter and a member of the seniors group.  She participated for over twenty years in a home bible study with a group of special friends.  Mildred enjoyed the winter months of her retirement in Fort Myers, Florida, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mildred was loved by family and friends and will be remembered as being a caring and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  Survivors include husband, Robert; and children, Bob Koschmann (Glencoe, IL);  Gary & Janet Myers (Seymour, IN); Steve & Nanci Over (Fishers, IN) and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Carmel Lutheran Church on Monday, Jan. 14, 2008 from 5-7 PM and Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 10-11 AM.  Services will be held at the church at 11 AM.
Memorial contributions may be made to Carmel Lutheran Church, Carmel, IN or Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Coral, FL.
