Michael John Fritsch

Michael John Fritsch, 60, of Westfield, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 27, 2026. He was born on March 31, 1966, in Neenah, Wisconsin.

Michael most recently worked for Meijer. He had a passion for computers and technology and was always interested in learning something new. He enjoyed weightlifting and spent many years living in New Mexico, where he appreciated the warmth and sunshine before eventually making his home in Indiana. In recent years, he began learning to play the organ, which quickly became one of his most treasured possessions. He was also the proud owner of two beloved cockatiels, Rocky and Bruno, who brought him much joy and companionship. Whether he was soaking up the sunshine, lifting weights, learning something new, playing the organ, or spending time with those he loved, Mike found joy in life’s simple moments.

To his niece, Mike was someone she could always talk to. He was the epitome of a godfather. Always offering guidance, sharing his perspective, and allowing room for mistakes, growth, and learning. When she was little, she was convinced he had bowling balls hidden in his arms because of how incredibly strong he was from weightlifting. As she grew older, she realized that while his physical strength was impressive, it was his gentle heart that left the greatest impression. He was always willing to listen, offer encouragement, and make those around him feel seen, understood, and valued. His quiet support, kindness, and unwavering presence are gifts she will carry with her forever.

Michael is survived by his mother, Mary Fritsch; his brothers, Robert Fritsch and Jeffrey (Joell) Fritsch; his partner of 26 years, Dan Watters; his nieces, Alairyse (Noah) Miller, Chelsea (Joe) Kilsdonk, and Nicole (Kent) Shafer; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Fritsch.

Services will be held in Wisconsin at a later date.
