Mary "Joan" Mayhew, 83, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. She was born on October 7, 1931 to Frank F. and Mary Floy (Edwards) Gilpin in Eagletown, Indiana.
Joan was self-employed as a housekeeper for many years and attended Eagle Creek Evangelical Friends Church.
She is survived by her children, Danny (Jean) Mayhew, Steve (Suzy) Mayhew, Jeff (Judy) Mayhew; sisters, Jane (Bernard) Roudebush and Jo Francis; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a daughter.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her brothers, Bus, Gene, Sonny, and Jim Gilpin; and sisters, Kate Jones, Maxine Davis, Virginia Castor, and Betty Wilkerson.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 19, 2015, at Eagletown Cemetery, 17802 Eagletown Road, in Westfield.
