Marjorie McIntyre

Marjorie McIntyre, 88, of Noblesville, joined her late husband of 65 years, Wendell, on October 4, 2022.

Marge enjoyed growing up in St. Louis, fondly recalling the stories of attending opera with her father. A graduate of Clayton High School, she attended the University of Iowa earning a degree in speech pathology, graduating shortly after her 21st birthday and two courses short of a Master’s degree. She married Wendell on June 24, 1955 in Chicago.

She taught in several Illinois school districts including Park Forest, St. Charles, and Northbrook before moving to northwest Arkansas to manage McIntyre’s Paint and Decorating with Wendell. Their love of antiques and furniture restoration continued into retirement.

Marge enjoyed and excelled at multiple home arts including cooking and baking, sewing, knitting, needlepoint, and caning antique chair seats. She was a Girl Scout leader and unofficial band mom. She was a member of the PEO Sisterhood and attended Emmanuel United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell; and brother, Henry Frank.

She is survived by daughter, Joan (Mike-d) Cannon; son, Greg (Joanne) McIntyre; granddaughters, Andrea (Ryan) Keller, Elizabeth (Jacob) Riley, and Sarah McIntyre; as well as special friends, Christina McNamara and Richard Rose.

A celebration of lives of Marjorie and Wendell will be held for family and friends at a later date.

As a thank you for the kindness and attentiveness of Marjorie’s care, memorial contributions may be made to: Majestic Care of Carmel, 12999 N Pennsylvania Street, Carmel, IN 46032
