Listen to Obituary

Marilyn A. (Gates) Jordan, 89, of Noblesville, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20th, 2026 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. She was born on May 30th, 1936 to George and Lucia (McWethy) Gates in Dixon, Illinois. Marilyn attended North Central College and obtained a bachelor's degree in Education. She worked as a teacher for many years, positively impacting the youth she served. Following her teaching career, Marilyn pursued an executive assistant position at Wheaton College for over a decade.

Marilyn’s formative years began on a farm where she resided with her family, having many adventures with her siblings. Marilyn was a woman of faith, wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, educator, and one of her most cherished titles, grandmother. Marilyn was known for her love of sports, always present for her sons events, rain or shine. She was an avid reader, averaging one hundred books in a year at one point! Marilyn will be remembered for her Christ-like predisposition and fierce love for her family. She was the easiest hello and hardest goodbye. Marilyn will be missed tremendously by all who had the privilege of encountering her.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jim Jordan; sons, Rick and Bill Jordan; sister, Joan (Gates) Jones; 3 granddaughters, Chelsea (Jordan) Wisniewski, Shelbi (Jordan) Henderson, and Kaylee Jordan; and three great-grandchildren, Logan and Jaxon Wisniewski, and Mabel Henderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dick Gates; and her sister, Kathy (Gates) Pichotta.

No services are planned at this time. Randall & Roberts Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation services.
