Lawrence Wayne O'Brien, 80, of Noblesville, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. He was born on April 4, 1945 to Joseph O'Brien and Dorothy (Feller) Dalgleish in Evansville, Indiana. His parents precede him in death.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and then was the Vice President of Manufacturing for CMW for 17 years. Larry later earned a Doctorate of Divinity degree and served as a pastor and counselor for over 23 years. He was strong in his faith and his love for music. Larry enjoyed singing in the church choir so much that he taught himself how to play the piano. He also served on many church missions over the years. Larry was a hard worker, great story teller, and loved fishing, especially at his lake house in Monticello, IN. He loved cheering on his favorite Purdue basketball teams, and enjoyed working out to stay in shape. Most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, attending all of their events.
Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Yvonne; sons, Derek, Sean, and Kyle (April) O'Brien; brother, Donald (Rodilla) O'Brien; grandchildren, Sevy Carter, Izzy O'Brien, Owen, Isaac, and Evan O'Brien, and Braxtyn Bilbrey; as well as his extended family.
