LaVerne Donohue

LaVerne Donohue, 75, of Carmel, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at his home. He was born on December 2, 1949 to John and Lucille (Miskell) Donohue in Ottawa, Illinois.

Vern worked as a carpenter/millwright his entire life and was a Union member of Millwright Local 1056. He loved the Chicago Bears and his garage woodworking shop. Vern loved riding motorcycles with his sons. He had a huge heart and loved his family. Vern will be remembered for his "Vernisms". He always said, "We are making memories!"

Vern is survived by his wife, Mary Alyce Donohue; children, Bob (Rene) Veith, John (Amy) Veith, Michelle Morrow, and Richard (Miranda) Donohue; grandchildren, Andrew (Abigail) Veith, Chloe Donohue, Connor (Bri) Donohue, Emma (Daniel) Deckard, Ellie Veith, Noah Donohue, and Kyle Morrow; great-granddaughter, Addlyn Deckard; 4 brothers; 1 sister; as well as many nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, Vern was preceded in death by his sister, Colleen Donohue; and his son, James Donohue.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post 155, 852 W Main Street, Carmel, IN 46032 on Sunday July 27, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Vern's family has entrusted his care to Randall & Roberts Funeral Home.
