Larry Keith Becker passed away May 10, 2026 in McCordsville, Indiana, at the age of 77. He was born July 29, 1948, in Princeton, Illinois, to Earlene and Grace Becker. Larry’s early life was shaped by hard work and community ties, including his family’s involvement in local business through Beck Oil Company.

He married Cathy Lee Lundeen of Tiskilwa, Illinois, on September 6, 1969, at the Princeton Methodist Church. Together, they were blessed with two children: Eric Becker (wife Debbie) and Christi Becker.

Larry cherished his grandchildren and, when they were young, one of his greatest joys was playing with them and attending their different events. He loved cheering them on and being an active part of their lives. He also found special purpose and excitement in his role as a grandfather, always taking interest in their accomplishments and their everyday moments.

Larry was the proud grandfather of Andrew Becker (significant other Jessie Garner) of Fishers, Indiana; Tim Becker, M.D. (wife Mia Becker) of Seattle, Washington; Abby Becker (significant other Jack Smalley) of Fortville, Indiana; and Mia Becker (significant other Matt Hazen) of Indianapolis, Indiana.

After graduating from Southern Illinois University in 1970, Larry began his career at Horace Mann Insurance Company in Springfield, Illinois, working as an internal auditor. Through dedication and leadership, he rose to the highest levels of the organization. At the time of his retirement, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Larry was the company’s CFO when it went public in 1991, and that same year he was inducted into the SIU Business School Hall of Fame, an honor recognizing his outstanding professional achievements.

In addition to his many accomplishments, Larry committed himself ever more deeply to God. In 2009, he began making trips down to Haiti, where he led the charge to repair a church, rebuilding a school, digging a well, caring for orphans and helping them get started on a small chicken farm. He was a huge proponent of empowering the Haitian people to become self-sufficient. Larry often shared stories from his adventures in Haiti, and he spent time dreaming, planning, and looking forward to his next trip. He shared the love of Jesus with the people in Haiti through his word and deed.

Larry will be remembered for his faith, his service, his love for his family, and the impact he made in Haiti.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Geist Christian Church, 8550 Mud Creek Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46256.
