Starts at 2:00 pm (Eastern time)
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Kristie JoAnne Nickel, a devoted mother, a proud nana, and a beloved sister and friend who passed away April 9, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.
Kristie was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, July 14, 1971 to Michael and Linda Nickel. She was a lifelong resident of Westfield, Indiana, graduating from Westfield High School, then pursuing a career with Paddack’s Wrecker & Heavy Transport. On June 10, 1995, she married Jeff Ripley and later welcomed their son and daughter, Jacob and Brittney, to the world.
Kristie’s radiant, endearing personality contributed to the foundational relationships she held so close. All of her moments and memories carried great value, her selflessness and passion towards others was magnetic, the love and light she poured into every day and every relationship was unmatched, and her inclusiveness gave others a sense of comfort and belonging. She loved watching football whether it was in the stands for her son or grandson, if it was on the sidelines at Colts game, or sitting next to her brother, Jon, and yelling at the Cowboys on TV. She enjoyed vacations in Tennessee, cooking family dinners, spending time outdoors, creating personalized gifts through her company Creations by K, but if there was one thing she was most passionate about it was being Nana. She naturally was a nurturer having cared for her parents during their end of life, supporting her children and their aspirations, and in caring for her grandchildren. Her unexpected passing leaves a great void in the hearts and lives of those who love her.
Kristie was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Linda Nickel. She is survived by her brother, Jon (Lisa) Nickel, and their children Logan and Regan. She also leaves behind her children Jacob (Anna) Ripley and Brittney (Nate) Phelps as well as Daryn (Haley) Milton, her grandchildren Peyton, Cooper, Lilly, Gracie, Keelie, Leven, Brayden, Saylor, Mack, and many bonus children and grandchildren gained through friends.
A celebration of life will be held on April 25, 2026 at 2pm at Paddack’s Wrecker & Heavy Transport, 18702 Chad Hittle Drive, Westfield, IN 46074.
Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society or The American Diabetes Association.
