Kenwood Earle Ramsey Jr.

Kenwood Earle Ramsey, Jr., aged 79, joined his wife in heaven on June 30, 2023, one week after being declared cancer free.

Kenwood was born on November 20, 1943 in Covington, Ky to Kenwood Earle and Thelma Ramsey, Sr. After a tumultuous childhood, he joined the Army, where he learned the electrical trade (he was a member of the IBEW 481 for many years).

Upon his discharge from the Army, Kenwood married Patricia Maxine Shubert, to which five children were quickly added: Claudia (Robert) Pickett, Rebekah Herron, Rachel (Brian) Frownfelter, Kenwood (Jodi) Ramsey, III and Samuel Ramsey. Kenwood also had nine grandchildren: Bobby (Morganne) Pickett, Rebekah Pickett, Kaitlyn (Brent) Whitaker, Jonathan (Kendra) Herron, Jacob Frownfelter, Ben Frownfelter, Kenwood Earle Ramsey, IV, Wesley Koonce and Sarah Ramsey, as well as five great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Peggy Roberts and Donna Heine.

The single most important thing that changed his life forever was when Kenwood gave his life to the Lord. While working full time as an electrician to support his family, Kenwood also pastored several churches: Sunshine Gardens, Michigan St., Eagledale and Central Wesleyan churches, as well as, most recently, Eaglecreek Friends Church.

Kenwood was known for his love of people, watches, corny jokes, food of any kind (breakfast was his favorite), cars, socializing with friends at the Sheridan Legion and the daily mail delivery.

A celebration of life will take place at Randall and Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Rd, Noblesville, IN with visitation on Thursday, July 6th, 6-8 PM and service on Friday, July 7th, 11 AM with Robert Pickett officiating.

Those who would like to honor his memory can do so by donating to Shepherd's Global Classroom, an organization striving to equip underserved Christian leaders all around the world by providing a comprehensive curriculum for grassroots theological training (http://www.shepherdsglobal.org).
