March 25, 1930 - January 25, 2023

On Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the age of 92, our dear mother, Josie Snyder, rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings. While we will miss her greatly, we know she was looking forward to joining our father, James N. Snyder. 

She was a wonderful mother who was there when we needed her. Josie had many different career jobs throughout her life and retired at the age of 79. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and making blankets. Josie had many friends and was well loved. Everyone loved her smile. Josie's health had been failing for the past year and few people knew the extent to which she struggled. No matter how bad it got for her, she was always determined to get better. When anyone else would have given up, Josie stayed strong. Her joy for life and indomitable spirit kept her pushing through. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn't mean she lost her fight. 

Josie was the mother of eight children, Fred, Rudy, Larry, David, Hector, Mary Jo, Jesse, and Jim; eleven grandchildren, Gina, Eric E., Shannon, Rion, Logan, Celia, Nina, Eric M., Zach, Cody, and Mariah; six great-grandchildren, Brandy, Emersyn, Roman, Chloe, Elena, and Luka. 

While Josie's family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember Josie in a way that honors her spirit. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren invite the community to join them in a Celebration of Life to be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers, with her grandson, Pastor Zach McConnell officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to the time of service at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Oakhill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.
