Jerry Lee Wooldridge passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 28, 2022 at IU Saxony Hospital. Jerry was born to Guy and Chloe Wooldridge on October 11, 1944 in Anderson, Indiana.
Jerry was a tool and die maker for Guide Lamp for 36 years before retiring in 1999. Jerry’s greatest treasure was his wife, Diana (Dragoo) Wooldridge. They were the definition of a true love story; Jerry and Diana were high school sweethearts at Anderson Highland High School and Jerry made Diana his wife on July 18, 1964. They were a match made in heaven. Jerry was adventurous, loved doing everything outdoors especially snow skiing, boating, water skiing, fishing, hunting, and playing sports, while Diana was more reserved and just enjoyed going on long road trips to wherever the car took them. Whatever they were doing, they always enjoyed each other’s company.
Jerry was a true family man. Whatever his kids (not just his biological kids but all his cousins’ kids) or grandkids were interested in, that’s what he was interested in. You would see him at the field, the court, the pool, the choir concert, the band concert. It didn’t matter what it was, if it involved his kids or grandkids, he was there.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Diana (Dragoo) Wooldridge; son, Scott (Wanda) Wooldridge; daughter, Leah Wooldridge; grandson, Alex Wooldridge; granddaughter, Sydney Wooldridge; brother, Ronald (Connie) Wooldridge; niece, Alycn Opperman (Paul); nephew, Aaron (Amber), great nephew, Ashton Wooldridge; uncle, Garland (Elma) Wooldridge; several special cousins and friends; and his Friday Coffee gang, Jeff, Bill, Mike, & Tim.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Chloe Wooldridge; paternal grandparents, Marcus and Julia Wooldridge; and maternal grandparents, Enos and Helen Bennett.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Fresenius Dialysis Center in Anderson and Fishers, Dr. Mike Robertson and all the nurses of Community North Hospital, and the emergency room staff at IU Saxony Hospital for all their loving care and compassion.
A service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11:00 am at Randall and Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville, 46062. A celebration of life will be held immediately following at the Noblesville Elks Lodge, 35 S. 9th Street, Noblesville, 46060.
