Jean Marie Poplin

Jean Poplin, 64, of Fishers, Indiana, received her eternal heavenly reward on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

She was born October 2, 1961 in Groton, Connecticut to Dick and Darlene Cagle. She was the first of four children born into a Navy family. Although Jean called LaCrosse, Wisconsin home, she also lived in South Carolina twice and Pennsylvania while growing up.

Jean moved from LaCrosse to Muncie, Indiana in 1988 and then to Fishers, Indiana in 1989 where she resided for the rest of her life.

She met her future husband, Bob Poplin, in LaCrosse on September 19, 1985 and were married on May 6, 1989 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They were married 37 years and were blessed with two children and three grandchildren.

Jean had the greenest of thumbs and loved growing a variety of plants and flowers. She was an avid bird and animal watcher and could identify almost any type of living thing.

She worked in banking for more than 40 years, enjoyed working with customers and developed friendships with many of them.

Jean’s signature trait was her cheerful, kind and caring quality for all she came in contact with. Family and friends were immensely important to her.

She is survived by her husband Bob; daughter Hillary (Henderson) and son-in-law John; son Bret and daughter-in-law Tyler; and grandchildren Vega, Zoey and Abby; along with brothers Rick, Al and Tom; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Jean’s life is planned for Saturday, October 10 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers. Visitation is 11-2 with the service to follow at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made in Jean’s name to Community MD Anderson Cancer Center – North.  (details coming soon).
