James Arthur Loew, 57, of Fishers, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 14, 2023. He was born on August 8, 1965 to Carl and Violet (Buchanan) Loew in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Jim graduated from Bishop Luers High School in 1983 and received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in 1987. He started his career in Illinois before moving to Indianapolis to join Clyde E. Williams & Associates in 1990. He continued there through two acquisitions, by Farrar Garvey & Associates in 1995 and Clark Dietz in 2007. He most recently served as a Senior Project Manager, dedicating years of hard work to his clients and colleagues. Jim was a well-respected member of the civil engineering community, serving on several professional boards and committees throughout his career.
Jim always had a smile on his face, and everyone loved to be around him. He was known for his warmth, kindness, and genuine care for others. He was an active parishioner and volunteer at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church and worked on the chain crew for Cathedral High School football. Jim was very active and loved sports. Growing up he played baseball and basketball. He continued to stay active by running, golfing, playing tennis, and mowing the grass. Jim cherished years of wonderful memories with his family. He especially enjoyed traveling to spend time with his daughters.
Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sally Loew; daughters, Allison (Mike) Rocus and Emily Loew; sister, Rose (Roger) Yeager; brother, Bob (Tammy) Loew; and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Loew; and his brother, Eddie Loew.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am, on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church, 8155 Oaklandon Road in Indianapolis. Rev. Doug Marcotte will officiate. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
