Helen Beneville Grimes

Helen Beneville Grimes passed away on Monday July 6, 2026. She was born April 3, 1941 to Dr. and State Representative Walter and Juanita Beneville, Jeffersonville, Indiana. A graduate of Indiana University, she married Bob Grimes, a banker. They lived in Indianapolis, Chagrin Falls, Cincinnati, Billings, MT, Highland Heights, KY, and Noblesville, IN. She was a substitute teacher, church organist, real estate agent, and a tax preparer before she retired. Through the years, she held offices in various book clubs wherever they lived: Alpha Phi Sorority, Episcopal Church Women, PTA, garden clubs, AAUW, KSO volunteer and Lucy Albert Literary Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and daughter-in-law Elizabeth. She is survived by her sons Robert (Brenda) of Noblesville, IN and Michael of Abington, PA; her sister Judy Spencer, Greenwood, IN; her grandchildren Jessica (Josh) Garrison, Noblesville IN and Carson (Gabriella) Grimes, Highland Heights KY; her step-grandchildren Allyn (Jeff) Miles, Arlington, MA and Claire (Michael) Ramamurthy, Doylestown, PA; and her great-grandchildren Esmeralda, Catherine, Leah, Margaret, William, and Aurora.

A celebration of life will take place this fall.
