Gerald D. Edwards, 73, of Lapel, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born on October 31, 1940 to Alden and Janie (Johnson) Edwards in Noblesville, Indiana.
Gerald worked at Truss Manufacturing for 14 years, and then as a security officer at Pinkerton Security for 10 years before retiring in 2002. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard from 1958-1963. He was a former member of Jolietville Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon. Gerald was an outdoorsman, he loved hunting & fishing, and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Fay Edwards, whom he married in 1963; children, Barbara (Tom) Roark, Mark (Wanda) Edwards, and Matthew Edwards; sister, Lavina Edwards; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Tina Brown and Michelle Wiltermood; granddaughter, Jessica Brown; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be at Chester Friends Cemetery in Westfield.
