Gayle N. Anderson, age 92, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away on November 3, 2026.
Gayle was born on March 6, 1934, in Geneseo, Illinois, to Alfred and Helen (Olson) Anderson. He married Phyllis Bealer on March 3, 1956.
He graduated from Geneseo High School in 1952, where he was a standout athlete in football and track, setting the school pole vault record, which stood for 14 years. Following graduation, he attended Augustana College. In 1956, he was drafted into the United States Army. After serving two years, he enrolled at Iowa State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He later furthered his education at Bradley University, earning a Master of Business Administration degree.
Gayle’s professional career spanned more than five decades, primarily serving the process manufacturing industries, including the corn and sugar sectors. Among his many accomplishments were the design and construction of two manufacturing plants for Colorcon, Inc., including a facility in Indianapolis that remains in operation today, nearly 50 years later. In 1979, he founded GNA, Inc., through which he provided engineering and technical consulting services to process manufacturing companies. One of his major clients was Indiana Sugars, where he managed the technical aspects of manufacturing and engineering operations for 25 years. He retired in 2005 at the age of 72.
Gayle enjoyed winemaking, earning several ribbons for his entries at the Indiana State Fair. He was also an avid fisherman and loved working on jigsaw puzzles. An important part of his life was his commitment to the Lutheran Church, where he served in numerous leadership and volunteer capacities throughout the years.
He was especially proud of his family and of his 70-year marriage to Phyllis.
Gayle was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Gladys; his brother, Donald; and his son, Jeff.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Phyllis Anderson; his daughters, Jolene (Bob) Bracale and Jill (Andy) Dietz; and his grandchildren, Alec Buscetto and Megan (TJ) Wilson.
Gayle will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quiet determination, unwavering faith, and deep devotion to his family.
