Garold L. Paxson, Jr.

Garold L. Paxson, Jr., our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, passed from this earth to his forever heavenly home on Saturday, February 17, 2024. Born August 9, 1941 in Muskegon, Michigan. Garold, fondly known as Jerry, was predeceased by his parents, Garold L. Paxson, Sr. and Dorein Alfreda Paxson. 

Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Catherine Davis Paxson; his children, Cheryl L. Gray, Barbara L. Smith, and Gary W. Paxson; his 9 grandchildren, Brenna, David, Taylor, Bryce, Jacob, Hannah, Rebekah, Benjamin, and Joshua; and 7 great-grandchildren, Laton, June, Madilyn, Orin, Revan, Alina, and Flynn. 

Jerry received his BBA and MBA from Michigan State University. After working briefly in Chicago as a CPA, Jerry pursued full-time Christian ministry, receiving an MDiv from Baptist Bible School of Theology, and a ThM from Grace Theological Seminary. In 1980, Jerry became the Assistant to the Administrator/ Treasure of Evangelical Baptist Missions where he worked for 30 years until his retirement in 2010. Jerry loved family vacations, landscaping, playing games, working puzzles and Sudoku, ice cream, and spending time with his family. He served his LORD for many years as deacon in the church, teaching adult Sunday School classes and assisting with church finances. 

A small family gathering was held at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1685 Westfield Blvd, Noblesville, IN on Sunday, February 18th, and Jerry was laid to rest in Summit Lawn Cemetery on S. Union St. in Westfield on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Harbour Shores Church, 8011 E 216th St, Cicero, IN.
