Frank Paul Figge

Frank Paul Figge passed away March 3, 2026. He was born on June 16, 1936, in Iowa to Helen and Cyril Figge.

After leaving his small town home, he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University and accepted a position with General Motors. He stepped away to proudly serve in the United States Army. He returned to have a long and successful career in the automotive industry, ending in work on early electric vehicle and bus prototypes.

Frank married Joanne Kachanis in 1963. He is survived by Joanne; daughters Cynthia (Scott) Bodnar and Kristin (John) Freije; son Paul (Marilyn) Figge; five grandchildren; one great grandson; a great granddaughter soon to arrive; and twin sisters.

He embraced life with enthusiasm. Downhill skiing was his greatest passion. He shared his beautiful singing voice in many choirs over the years. Frank gave generously to his community through Catholic Ministries, Little League, Rotary, Meals on Wheels, and countless other activities. His was a full life, well lived.
