Edwin “Ed” A. Hollenbaugh, 76, passed away at home surrounded by his loving wife and children on June 15, 2026.
Ed was born on October 11, 1949, in Beach Grove, Indiana, to Glen and Wilma (Berry) Hollenbaugh. He worked several different jobs throughout the years, but his longest and most memorable occupation was as a school bus driver. He loved the children on his bus and often shared stories about their adventures with family and friends.
Ed met and married the love of his life, Linda Jane Sturdevant on December 13, 1975. They were sealed for time and all eternity at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ Washington DC Temple on May 23, 1980.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Ed’s faith guided his life. He found great comfort in the knowledge that families can be together forever.
When Ed wasn’t spending time with his family, he would often be found working in his flower garden. He had a green thumb and often received many compliments on his beautiful garden.
He is survived by his sweetheart of 50 years, Linda; his children, Justin, Brent, Nicole (Aaron) Hurley, Alisa (Jeremy) Burtzo, and Aaron (Danielle); and his eleven grandchildren, Savanah, Derek, Dillon, Jaden, Makenna, Andrew, Owen, Kaidence, Eve, Kash, and Brodie, who dearly loved their Papaw.
He is also survived by his mother, Wilma Hollenbaugh; his brother, Mark (Brenda) Hollenbaugh; his sisters, Julia (John) Oliger, Kathy (Dale) Thompson, and Ruth Hollenbaugh; sisters in law, Pam Hollenbaugh, Linda Hollenbaugh Milburn, Nora Dellingner, and Joyce Harrington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, Glen Hollenbaugh; his brothers, John and Gene Hollenbaugh; his sister, Glenda Hollenbaugh Willey; and his brothers-in-law, Ray Dellingner, Darrell Sturdevant, and Gary Harrington.
Ed will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family. Though we grieve his passing, we find peace in the promise that families are eternal and that we will see him again.
