Douglas Scott Henderson, age 70, passed away on March 15, 2026 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, Indiana, after a brief illness. He will be remembered as a gentle soul who brought light to every room he entered with his humor and kindness. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Anne Henderson.

He was born on May 11, 1955, in Delphi, Indiana, the son of the late William Stanley Henderson and Thelma June Henderson. He attended Ball State University and worked as a recruiter for the Morley Group before transitioning to a career at Freedom Mortgage.

He enjoyed watching and supporting the Indianapolis Colts, fishing, cooking, and spending time with his family. He especially loved visiting Brown County, Indiana, and spending time with his dog, Pumpkin.

He is survived by his second wife, Joanna Jo Henderson; his son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Heaven Henderson; and his stepsons, Noah, Hayden, and Jack Fischer.

A service will be held at Castleton Community Church, 5825 E 91st St, Indianapolis, IN 46250 on Monday, March 23, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent to the church on the day of the service.
